OTTO CYCLE



The cycle which was introduced by Dr. A.N.Otto a german scientist is called otto cycle.Now a days pertol and gas engines follow this cycle.This cycle consists of the following four processes:

                                                        1.Two reversible adiabatic or isentropic processes,and
                                                        2.Two constant volume processes                                                        

Process1-2:
                 Process 1-2 is the isetropic compression process.During this process,the pressure increases from p1 to p2 and temperture increases from t1 to t2 but the volume decreases from v1 to v2 and entropy remanis constant

Process 2-3
                 process 2-3 is a constant volume heat addition process during this process this pressure,the increases from p2 to p3 the temperture increases from t2 to t3 and the entropy increases from s2 to s3
